What is the No Take, Only Throw meme?
No Take, Only Throw is a three-panel drawing of a scruffy dog with a toy. In the first panel it looks up hopefully, asking you to throw it; in the second a hand reaches for the toy and the dog's brows snap into a glare; in the third it stares back, still clutching the toy. The dog wants the fun of a game of fetch without ever letting go of the ball, which is exactly how many people want things: the reward without giving up anything to get it.
Origin: The comic was drawn by the Tumblr artist cupcakelogic and posted in July 2015. Dog owners recognized the behavior instantly and it spread far beyond Tumblr.
Also known as: No Take Only Throw, NTOT, Pls Throw Dog, No Take Dog.
How to use the No Take, Only Throw meme
Each panel has its own box. The first is the polite request ("pls throw??"), the second is the angry refusal ("NO TAKE!!"), and the third is the impossible demand ("ONLY THROW"). Keep the dog's broken grammar for the most charm.
Use it for anyone who wants an outcome but refuses the necessary step: clients who want a redesign without changes, players who want to win but won't swap characters, coworkers who ask for feedback and reject all of it. Short shouted lines in caps match the dog's escalating mood.
