What is the Three-Headed Dragon meme?
Three-Headed Dragon is a drawing of King Ghidorah, Godzilla's golden three-headed rival. The left and middle heads are drawn as fierce monsters with horns, glowing eyes and bared fangs, while the right head is a goofy cartoon with googly eyes and a tongue hanging out. It is a template for any group of three where two members are serious and capable and one is clearly the weird or clueless one. Fans liked the joke because in Godzilla: King of the Monsters the third head genuinely acts a bit more erratic than the other two.
Origin: The drawing is by Michael J. Larsen, made in 2019 around the release of Godzilla: King of the Monsters. It quickly spread as a fill-in-the-labels template.
Also known as: King Ghidorah Meme, Derpy Third Head.
How to use the Three-Headed Dragon meme
There are three boxes, one on each head from left to right. Label the two fierce heads with the respectable or normal options, and put the odd one out on the derpy right head.
Classic uses: three pizza toppings where the last one is pineapple, three ways to cook something where one is microwave, three versions of a game where one is the cursed remaster, three siblings where the youngest is chaos. Keep labels to a word or two so they read clearly on each neck.
