What is the Stop, He's Already Dead meme?
Stop, He's Already Dead is a two-panel Simpsons screenshot. The top panel, captioned in bold white letters, shows Springfield kids pointing and shouting "Stop! Stop! He's already dead!" while the bottom panel shows the target of the pile-on lying flat on the ground as a crowd keeps kicking and stomping him. It is the go-to image for piling on something that has clearly already lost: a dead joke, a ruined reputation, a failed product or a player who has already been knocked out.
Origin: The line is from "Homie the Clown", episode 15 of the sixth season of The Simpsons, first aired in February 1995.
Also known as: Stop Stop He's Already Dead, Stop He's Already Dead Simpsons, He's Already Dead Meme.
How to use the Stop, He's Already Dead meme
The top caption is already part of the image. Use the first box, at the top of the bottom panel, for the crowd doing the beating. Use the second box, along the bottom, for whoever is lying on the ground.
It suits comment sections, reviewers and fans dunking on something that is already over: a cancelled show, a sports team that is down by forty, a meme that has been reposted to death. The more obviously finished the victim already is, the better.
