What is the Sentry Mog meme?
Sentry Mog is a two-panel comic image. On top is Marvel's Sentry, the golden-haired hero with the power of a million exploding suns, lit in blazing orange with his hair streaming and his jaw set like a statue. Underneath is a weathered, scarred older man in a red suit, glancing sideways in a dark cockpit, looking very much like the loser of the comparison. "Mog" is internet slang for outclassing someone, especially in looks, simply by standing next to them, and the image is built for exactly that: the top panel wins, the bottom panel suffers.
Origin: Sentry first appeared in Marvel comics in 2000 and reached a much bigger audience when Lewis Pullman played him in the 2025 film Thunderbolts*. The two-panel mogging template was uploaded to imgflip in autumn 2026.
Also known as: Sentry Mogging, Marvel Sentry Mog, Sentry Mogs.
How to use the Sentry Mog meme
Label the top panel with the thing that dominates and the bottom panel with whatever it outshines without trying. The joke depends on a clear winner and a sad, ordinary runner-up.
Use it for sequels versus originals, a new phone versus last year's, a friend's glow-up versus your own, or any comparison where one side simply exists better. Short labels work best because both faces need to stay readable.
