What is the Change My Mind meme?
Change My Mind shows conservative commentator Steven Crowder sitting at a folding table on a brick plaza outside a university building, coffee mug in hand and a microphone on the table, smiling at the camera. Hanging from the front of the table is a large white sign with "Change My Mind" printed along the bottom edge, and the space above it holds his statement. As a template, the original statement is replaced with any opinion, usually a petty, obvious or deliberately provocative one, so the image becomes a confident person daring the internet to argue.
Origin: Crowder posted the original photo in February 2018 while set up outside Texas Christian University for a debate segment. The blank sign was edited into a template within days.
Also known as: Steven Crowder Change My Mind, Change My Mind Sign.
How to use the Change My Mind meme
There is a single text box and it sits on the sign, above the printed "Change My Mind". Write the claim as a flat statement of fact, the way it would appear on a protest board.
The best captions are hot takes on low-stakes topics (food, games, grammar, tech tools) stated with total certainty. A controversial but harmless opinion invites people to argue in the comments, which is exactly the energy the image is selling. Keep it to one or two lines so it fits the sign.
