What is the American Chopper Argument meme?
American Chopper Argument is a six-panel grid of Paul Teutul Jr. and his father, Paul Teutul Sr., from the reality show American Chopper, screaming at each other in a cluttered office. Jr. in a black cap jabs his finger and yells; Sr., with his gray walrus mustache and tattooed arms, yells back from his desk; the shouting escalates until a chair goes flying and Sr. is left pointing and roaring. Because each panel is a turn in the argument, the format is used to stage a heated back-and-forth over something, often a nerdy or trivial debate presented with absurd intensity.
Origin: The fight aired on Discovery Channel's American Chopper in 2009 and is about Jr. showing up late to work. The six-shot meme format took off in 2018.
Also known as: American Chopper, Chopper Argument, Teutul Argument.
How to use the American Chopper Argument meme
Each of the six boxes is one line of dialogue, alternating between the two men in reading order: left panel, right panel, row by row. The argument should escalate, with each line rebutting the last, and the final box landing a twist or contradiction.
The joke is fury over nuance. Debates about technical definitions, grammar, fandom lore or obscure rules work best when both sides make real points. Write it as a genuine argument; the image supplies the shouting.
