What is the Drakeposting meme?
Drakeposting uses two stills of Drake against a bright yellow-orange background in a red puffer jacket. In the top panel he turns away with a pained grimace and holds his hand up to block whatever is beside him; in the bottom panel he smiles contentedly and points with approval. The format reads as a simple ranking: reject this, prefer that. It is one of the most widely used comparison memes on the internet because it fits any preference, sincere or ironic, and the reader understands it instantly from the gestures alone.
Origin: Both frames are from the music video for Drake's 2015 single "Hotline Bling", whose dance moves and gestures were remixed endlessly online. The two poses were cut together into the approve and disapprove format.
Also known as: Drake Hotline Bling, Drake Yes No, Drake No Yes.
How to use the Drakeposting meme
The top box is the thing Drake rejects, the bottom box is what he prefers instead. Keep each caption to a short phrase so it does not cover his face.
The funniest versions make the preferred option worse, lazier or more absurd than the rejected one, like rejecting "fixing the bug" and approving "adding a comment that says it's a feature". A tiny wording change between the two lines is another classic angle. Straight comparisons work too, but the twist is what earns the share.
