What is the All My Homies Hate meme?
All My Homies Hate is the template behind the "Fuck X, all my homies hate X" joke. The sepia photo shows six young men in heavy winter coats, hoodies and beanies posing on a city sidewalk outside a store, several throwing hand signs at the camera with jeans sagging low. The caption pretends this crew is united in their contempt for something, usually something absurdly specific or harmless. Part of the fun is the mismatch between their tough pose and the nerdy, petty thing they supposedly can't stand.
Origin: The "Fuck X, all my homies hate X" and "all my homies use Y" captions first appeared on Instagram in 2017 and took off in early 2019. Who the men in the photo are is not known.
Also known as: Fuck X, All My Homies Hate X, All My Homies Use, Fuck X All My Homies Use Y.
How to use the All My Homies Hate meme
This version has one box across the bottom of the photo. The full joke usually fits in one line, either "all my homies hate X" or the longer two-part "fuck X, all my homies hate X". A variant names the alternative the crew prefers instead, ending in "all my homies use" something else.
Pick a target your audience has strong feelings about: tabs vs spaces, a game patch, a sports rival, a math topic, a streaming service price hike. The more trivial the thing being hated, the funnier the crew looks standing in solidarity against it.
