What is the And It's Gone meme?
And It's Gone shows a South Park bank teller in a dark suit and striped tie sitting at his desk behind a computer, staring straight ahead with flat, wide eyes. In the scene he cheerfully invests a customer's money, types on his keyboard, and then deadpans "aaaand it's gone" as the balance vanishes instantly. The meme uses that frozen expression for anything lost in an instant, usually money, but also free time, motivation or a lead in a game.
Origin: The teller appears in the South Park episode "Margaritaville" (2009), the show's satire of the financial crisis, when Stan tries to deposit the $100 his grandma gave him.
Also known as: Aaaand It's Gone, South Park Banker, South Park Bank Teller.
How to use the And It's Gone meme
Put the hopeful action in the top box: saving, investing, getting paid, building a lead. The bottom box is the teller's "...aaaand it's gone", with stretched-out letters to mimic the pause. The image's blank stare provides the shrug.
It lands with paychecks eaten by rent, crypto dips, a weekend vanishing, battery percentage, or a 3-0 lead collapsing. The quicker the reversal, the funnier, so the top line should sound confident and optimistic.
