What is the Confused Screaming meme?
Confused Screaming is a screenshot of YouTuber Filthy Frank in glasses and a pale blue shirt, lunging forward with his mouth wide open in a full-volume yell while clutching a frying pan, with the caption "*Confused screaming*" across the bottom. It is a written-out sound effect, the reaction you post when something makes so little sense that words fail and only noise is left.
Origin: The frame is from a Filthy Frank YouTube video posted in December 2014, in which he screams while being hit in a doorway. The captioned screenshot later spread as a reaction image in comment sections.
Also known as: Filthy Frank Confused Screaming, Confused Screaming Frank, Confused Screaming Meme.
How to use the Confused Screaming meme
The caption "*Confused screaming*" is already at the bottom. The single box at the top is the setup: the statement, rule or situation that makes no sense.
It works for contradictions, weird instructions and plot holes: a teacher allowing notes in a language you do not speak, a game patch that makes things worse, a recipe that says "season to taste" for baking. One line is enough; the caption does the punchline.
