What is the Drop the X, It's Cleaner meme?
Drop the X, It's Cleaner uses a still of Justin Timberlake as Sean Parker in The Social Network, seated at a table and pointing across it with the easy confidence of someone handing out million-dollar advice. In the film he tells the founders to cut the "The" from "TheFacebook". The meme recycles that pitch as a fake branding consultation: take any name, phrase or habit, cut one piece off, and present the shorter version as an obvious upgrade. The fun is in what gets cut, from a single letter to an entire word that turns out to be the important part.
Origin: The line comes from David Fincher's 2010 film The Social Network, in which Sean Parker advises Mark Zuckerberg (Jesse Eisenberg) to rename TheFacebook to just Facebook. The screenshot became a popular joke format online in the late 2010s, and it resurfaced widely in 2021 when Facebook's parent company renamed itself Meta.

How to use the Drop the X, It's Cleaner meme
Use the top box for the advice, the part being dropped, usually written as drop the "X". Use the bottom box for the new, shorter result followed by "it's cleaner". Keep the original quotation marks style so readers recognize the Parker cadence right away.
It works best when cutting something changes the meaning: dropping the "un" from unemployed, the "ex" from a relationship, or the word "diet" from a soda. Rebrands, sports team names, product launches and long-winded job titles are all natural targets. The punchline should look smug and simple, exactly like a consultant who has solved everything with one deletion.
