What is the Ermahgerd meme?
Ermahgerd is a snapshot of a young girl in pigtails clutching three Goosebumps books and grinning with her mouth wide open in pure excitement. The captions are written as if her braces made her mispronounce everything, so "oh my god" becomes "ermahgerd" and "Goosebumps, my favorite books" becomes "gersberms, mah fravrit berks". The humor is in decoding the mangled spelling and in how enthusiastic she is about everyday things.
Origin: The photo was posted to Reddit's r/funny in March 2012. The woman later said she was about 11 when it was taken in the 1990s and good-naturedly embraced the attention.

How to use the Ermahgerd meme
Top box: "ERMAHGERD", nearly always. Bottom box: the thing she is excited about, spelled the way she would say it, with vowels replaced by "er" and some letters dropped. It should still be readable after a second look: "gersberms" for Goosebumps, "perzer" for pizza.
Pick small pleasures that would make a kid shriek: snow days, free food, a new game, the weekend. The harder it is to decode while still being decodable, the funnier it gets.
