What is the Friendship Ended meme?
Friendship Ended shows two young men in a firm handshake in front of a cream curtain, with a loud rainbow-gradient headline announcing that a friendship with Mudasir is over and a column of text naming Salman as the new best friend. In the bottom corners, two photos of Mudasir in a red polo shirt are slashed out with big green X marks. The appeal is how seriously the original treats a falling-out: it reads like an official press release about a personal grudge. As a meme it announces that you have dumped one thing (an app, a brand, a team, a file format) and loudly crowned its replacement.
Origin: The image was posted to Facebook in September 2015 by Asif Raza Rana, a man from Pakistan, to declare publicly that Mudasir was out and Salman was in. Its earnest, homemade design spread quickly and was soon parodied with swapped names, faces and objects.

How to use the Friendship Ended meme
The top box replaces the original headline: "friendship ended with" plus the thing you are breaking up with. The bottom box crowns the replacement with "now ___ is my best friend." Keep both halves in the same category so the swap is obvious: one browser for another, coffee for energy drinks, a rival club for your new favourite.
The joke gets better the pettier the reason feels and the more dramatic the announcement is. Very small grudges (a snack brand that shrank its bag, a font that betrayed you) suit the over-the-top styling best.
