What is the Are You Two Friends? meme?
Are You Two Friends? stacks two Star Trek: Voyager screenshots. On top, a smiling woman with long curly hair in an orange top asks "Are you two friends?". Below, two officers in gold-shouldered Starfleet uniforms answer at once: the stern Vulcan Tuvok says "No." while Ensign Harry Kim, grinning, says "Yes.". The joke is a lopsided relationship, where one side clearly thinks they are close and the other does not. Labeling the asker and the two officers turns it into a commentary on rivalries, one-sided fandoms and awkward alliances.
Origin: The scene is from "Alter Ego", a 1997 third-season episode of Star Trek: Voyager. The woman is Marayna, a holodeck character, asking Tuvok and Kim about their relationship.
Also known as: Are You Two Friends, Tuvok and Harry Kim Meme, Star Trek Are You Two Friends.
How to use the Are You Two Friends? meme
