What is the Grrr meme?
Grrr is a reaction image of a glossy red cartoon smiley with narrowed eyes, gritted teeth and a white-gloved fist raised to its cheek, looking like it is about to lose its temper. It captions petty annoyances and the kind of quiet seething that comes before someone snaps.
Origin: The image is an old 3D-rendered angry emoticon of the kind that filled forum signatures and chat apps in the 2000s. It was uploaded to imgflip as a blank template titled "grrr" and climbed into the site's all-time template directory as a go-to image for being mad about something small.
Also known as: Angry Red Emoji, Grrr Emoji.
