What is the If Nobody Got Me meme?
If Nobody Got Me shows a silhouetted man against a hazy sunset sky, one arm stretched up as he points heavenward. The text reads "If nobody got me" at the top, "I know ___ got me" lower down, and "Can i get an AMEN?" at the bottom, but the word God has been blotted out with beige patches so anything can take its place. The joke is a mock-devotional shout-out to the one thing that never lets you down, usually something small and dependable like a favorite snack, an old game or a keyboard shortcut.
Origin: The original image macro paired the pointing man with an inspirational caption promising that when no one else has your back, God still does. In early 2021 people began editing out "God" and inserting characters, albums or objects, and the shout-out format spread widely.
Also known as: If Nobody Got Me, I Know God Got Me, I Know X Got Me, Can I Get an Amen.
How to use the If Nobody Got Me meme
The first box covers the large blank patch beside the man's raised hand, in the space after "If nobody got me": put the people or things that have let you down, or simply a picture-style label. The second box fills the small blank before "got me": name the reliable hero.
The humor is in the earnestness, so pick a loyal but humble savior: ctrl+z, instant noodles, your dog, a 2009 laptop that refuses to die. The "Can i get an AMEN?" line is already printed and closes the joke.
