What is the Let Me In meme?

Let Me In is a two-panel image of comedian Eric Andre in a grey suit and striped tie, shaking a tall black iron fence. In the top panel he grips the bars and says "Let me in." calmly into the street; in the bottom he throws his head back and screams "LET ME IIIIIIIIIIIN!" with his mouth wide open. The jump from polite request to total meltdown is the whole joke, and it fits anything you are desperate to get into and cannot.

Origin: It comes from a 2016 Adult Swim special in which Andre roamed outside the fence of the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia, yelling to be let in.

Also known as: Eric Andre Let Me In, Let Me In Meme, Let Me IIIIN.

How to use the Let Me In meme

Both captions are already baked in, so the boxes label the scene. The first box, at the top, names who is shaking the fence. The second box, beside Andre's screaming face in the lower panel, names what is keeping him out.

It works for locked doors and closed doors of every kind: a store opening at nine, a sold-out concert, a server queue, a friend group, a phone you forgot the passcode to. The more mundane the barrier, the funnier the scream.
