What is the This Is Where I'd Put My Trophy meme?
This Is Where I'd Put My Trophy is a two-panel shot of Mr. Turner, Timmy's dad from The Fairly OddParents. In the top panel he grins and proudly presents an empty pedestal under spotlights and velvet ropes; in the bottom panel his face collapses into a jealous, shouting rage. In the cartoon he is bitter about never winning anything; the meme keeps his outburst and swaps the trophy for whatever the poster lacks. The comedy is in the two-beat delivery: a calm, proud-sounding introduction ("this is where I'd put my...") followed by the bitter admission that the thing does not exist. Free time, a girlfriend, savings, a social life and a functioning sleep schedule are the classics.
Origin: The line is from The Fairly OddParents episode "Father Time," which aired on Nickelodeon in 2001. Mr. Turner's angry pointing at his empty shelf became a reusable caption format on image boards and forums.
Also known as: This Is Where I'd Put My Trophy If I Had One, If I Had One, Mr. Turner Trophy.
How to use the This Is Where I'd Put My Trophy meme
The top box, over the proud panel, starts the sentence: "this is where I'd put my ___". The bottom box finishes it with "if I had one" (or "if I had any"). The noun you pick carries all the humor, so choose something the target audience painfully lacks.
It works for self-deprecating jokes (savings, weekends, motivation), for teasing a sports team without championships, or for poking at a product that is missing an obvious feature. Keep the noun to one or two words so the rhythm of the original line survives.
