What is the Waiting Skeleton meme?
Waiting Skeleton is a photo of a full plastic skeleton slumped on a weathered wooden bench outside, legs apart and arms hanging, with grass and hay bales behind it. It looks as if someone sat down to wait for something and stayed so long they died and decomposed there. The meme is pure exaggeration about waiting: for a reply, a sequel, a delivery, a slow build to finish, or for something that is clearly never going to happen.
Origin: Forum users have long replied with images of skeletons slumped at desks or on benches to say they have been "waiting for OP" to deliver on a promise. This bench photo became one of the most recognizable versions of that joke.

How to use the Waiting Skeleton meme
The top box introduces who is waiting, often just "me waiting". The bottom box names what they are waiting for, ideally something notorious for taking forever.
The best targets are things everybody knows will be late or never arrive: a game's sequel, a friend who said "on my way", the CI pipeline, a landlord fixing the heater, a reply from a crush. The longer the wait, the more the skeleton makes sense.
