What is the Whisper and Goosebumps meme?
Whisper and Goosebumps stacks two close-up photos. In the top half, a pair of lips leans in toward someone's ear, mid-whisper. In the bottom half, a forearm is covered in raised goosebumps, every tiny hair standing on end. Together they show a sentence so thrilling to hear that it gives the listener literal chills. The caption is the whispered phrase, and the joke is that it is usually something mundane that only a very specific person would find exciting: a cancelled meeting, a restock, a clean code build.
Origin: A Tumblr post from 2014 paired a goosebumps photo with a caption about memes, and the whisper-and-goosebumps combination grew out of it as a reusable format.
Also known as: Whisper in Ear Goosebumps, Goosebumps Meme, Whispering in Ear.
How to use the Whisper and Goosebumps meme
There is one box, at the top over the whispering mouth. Write the words being whispered, ideally in quotes, and let the goosebumps photo underneath show the reaction.
The funniest whispers are oddly specific pleasures: "your package arrived early", "the meeting could have been an email, so it's cancelled", "double XP weekend". Think about what makes a particular group of people weak at the knees, from programmers to football fans to shoppers, and keep it short like a real whisper.
