What is the AJ Styles & Undertaker meme?
AJ Styles and Undertaker is a frame from a WWE match: AJ Styles, with his long hair and beard, is laughing with his head thrown back, completely unaware that The Undertaker is standing directly behind him in purple-tinted smoke, staring at him with a stony face. It captures the moment right before doom arrives. The template compares someone enjoying themselves to the consequence quietly sneaking up behind them, which makes it a natural fit for weekends ending, deadlines approaching and bills coming due.
Origin: The shot comes from the Boneyard Match between AJ Styles and The Undertaker at WrestleMania 36 in April 2020, a cinematic pre-recorded match staged in a graveyard.
Also known as: AJ Styles and Undertaker, Undertaker Standing Behind AJ Styles, Undertaker Behind AJ.
How to use the AJ Styles & Undertaker meme
The top box labels AJ Styles, the one celebrating, and the bottom box labels The Undertaker, the thing about to end the fun. Often the top line is "me enjoying ___" and the bottom is a single word or short phrase.
It works best when the threat is inevitable and the victim ought to know it's coming: Monday morning, the credit card statement, the exam that was announced weeks ago, the plot twist in the next episode.
