What is the Anthony Adams Rubbing Hands meme?
Anthony Adams Rubbing Hands shows former NFL lineman Anthony “Spice” Adams peeking out from behind a tree in a bright yellow jacket, rubbing his palms together and licking his lips with a sly, hungry grin. He looks like someone who has spotted an opportunity and is about to pounce. The meme stands for gleeful scheming: when you see something you can take advantage of, or a chance to do something mischievous, and you cannot wait. It is equally good for innocent excitement, like smelling dinner, and for playful villainy, like seeing an opponent make a mistake.
Origin: Adams posted the photo in late 2017 as part of a comedic photo story about a character called Leon Lemons, shared on Twitter and Facebook. The hand-rubbing shot was quickly cropped out as a reaction image.
Also known as: Rubbing Hands Together, Spice Adams Rubbing Hands, Guy Behind Tree Rubbing Hands.
How to use the Anthony Adams Rubbing Hands meme
Put the setup in the top box (“me when” plus the opportunity) and the specific juicy detail in the bottom box. The image is his reaction, so you do not need to explain how you feel; the grin and the hand rubbing say it all.
It lands best when the opportunity is small but irresistible: a coworker asking a beginner question, an unattended plate of fries, an opponent who just used their ultimate. Keep it playful; the face reads as mischief, not malice.
