What is the Captain America Elevator Fight Dad Joke meme?
Captain America Elevator Fight is a four-panel image built from Marvel movie scenes. In the top panel, Steve Rogers stands calmly among men in an elevator and asks something. In the middle row, a bald man in glasses answers, then Steve leans in close. The bottom panel shows the same elevator erupting into a brawl as the agents pile onto him. Fans fill the dialogue with a groan-worthy dad joke, so the beat-down reads as everyone in the elevator punishing Cap for the pun.
Origin: The panels mix the elevator fight from Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014) with the callback elevator scene in Avengers: Endgame (2019), where Steve outsmarts the same Hydra agents. The dad-joke version spread widely in early 2020.
Also known as: Captain America Elevator Fight, Captain America Dad Joke, Elevator Fight Meme, Cap Elevator Pun.
How to use the Captain America Elevator Fight Dad Joke meme
There are three text boxes. The first sits over Steve in the top panel and is the setup question. The second goes on the bald agent's side of the middle row and is his innocent reply, usually "no, why?" or "what?". The third sits by Steve's close-up and is the pun. The bottom fight panel stays caption-free; it is the reaction.
Pick jokes that are so bad they deserve the beating: time puns, food puns, science wordplay. Keep each line short, since the panels are small and the rhythm of a spoken joke is what makes it work.
