What is the Goose Chase meme?
Goose Chase is a simple two-panel line drawing. In the top panel a goose's long white neck and orange beak fill the frame as it stares at something off to the side, calm and silent. In the bottom panel a person in a puffy jacket is sprinting away while the goose charges after them, neck stretched flat and beak open in a hiss. The joke is the instant switch from quiet stare to full pursuit that anyone who has met a real goose will recognize. Labeled, the goose becomes anything that will not leave you alone, and the runner becomes you trying to escape it.
Also known as: Goose Chasing Guy, Angry Goose.
How to use the Goose Chase meme
There are two labels across the top of the image. The left box names the person running away, usually "me" or a group like "students". The right box, over the goose, names whatever is chasing them: a deadline, a responsibility, a bug, an ex, a recurring meeting.
The best picks are things that seem harmless until they suddenly come for you. Short labels read best, since the drawing already shows the whole story. For a twist, make the runner something unexpected, like your savings running from a new game release.
