What is the Grumpy Cat meme?
Grumpy Cat is the frowning face of Tardar Sauce, a small mixed-breed cat whose downturned mouth and heavy-lidded eyes made her look permanently unimpressed. She was not actually grumpy; her face came from feline dwarfism and an underbite. Captioned photos turned her into the internet's spokesperson for pessimism, refusal and joyless honesty, with lines that start out sounding warm and then end in a flat no.
Origin: Photos of Tardar Sauce from Morristown, Arizona hit Reddit in September 2012 and went viral almost overnight. She became a celebrity with books, merchandise and TV appearances, and died in May 2019.

How to use the Grumpy Cat meme
