What is the Sudden Clarity Clarence meme?
Sudden Clarity Clarence is a photo of a lanky young man with messy curly hair and a white t-shirt standing in the middle of a packed, sweaty crowd at a concert or party. Everyone around him is dancing or shouting, but he is frozen, eyes wide and mouth slightly open, staring into the distance as if the universe just revealed a secret to him. Captions supply that epiphany, usually a trivial or absurd realization delivered like a life-changing truth: a pun he finally gets, the meaning behind a brand name, the fact that he has been doing something wrong for years.
Origin: The photo was taken by a news photographer at Schoolies week, the end-of-school celebration on Australia's Gold Coast. It took off as an advice-animal macro on Reddit around 2012.
Also known as: Epiphany Guy, Realization Guy, Sudden Realization.

The top box usually opens with the gasp, like "oh my god" or "wait a minute". The bottom box is the realization itself.
The funniest revelations are tiny but genuinely mind-bending, the kind of shower thought that makes the reader go "huh". Keep it surprising and specific: wordplay, hidden logic in everyday objects, things everyone has missed.
