What is the Grant Gustin Next To Oliver Queen's Grave meme?
This template is a behind-the-scenes photo of Grant Gustin, star of The Flash, crouching beside a fresh grave with a big grin and a peace sign. The headstone belongs to Oliver Queen, the Green Arrow from the CW's Arrow, and cast members in winter coats stand around looking far more solemn. The meme turns it into a gloating victory lap: the gravestone is labelled with something that died, and Gustin is labelled with whoever is cheerfully posing next to it, often the very thing that killed it.
Origin: Arrow actor Echo Kellum shared the set photo on Instagram in January 2020, around the time Arrow was finishing its final season. Fans immediately started labelling the headstone and Gustin.
Also known as: Grant Gustin Grave, Flash at Green Arrow's Grave, Peace Sign at Grave.
How to use the Grant Gustin Next To Oliver Queen's Grave meme
This version has three boxes. The first sits on the headstone and names what died. The second goes on the mound of dirt in front, for the remains, the victim or the place it ended. The third goes on Gustin, the person smiling and throwing a peace sign.
The humour is in the mismatch between a funeral and a cheery photo op. Label Gustin with the culprit or the rival who benefited: a new product next to the one it replaced, a sequel next to the franchise it ruined, a habit next to your dead savings account.
