What is the I Feel Like I'm Taking Crazy Pills meme?
I Feel Like I'm Taking Crazy Pills shows Mugatu, Will Ferrell's fashion-mogul villain from Zoolander, with his white poodle-curl wig, goatee and furious glare, mid-shout. In the movie he snaps because he is the only person who can see that the hero's supposedly different signature looks are the exact same face. As a meme it captures the exasperation of being the lone sane person in a room where everyone else accepts something obviously absurd.
Origin: Zoolander is a 2001 comedy directed by and starring Ben Stiller as the model Derek Zoolander, with Will Ferrell playing Jacobim Mugatu. The line comes from Mugatu's rant while watching Derek demonstrate his famous poses.
Also known as: Mugatu Crazy Pills, Zoolander Crazy Pills.
How to use the I Feel Like I'm Taking Crazy Pills meme
The top box describes what everyone else is happily going along with, and the bottom box is Mugatu's line, "I feel like I'm taking crazy pills!" The default template leaves the top empty, so you can also caption only the quote and let the setup live in a post title.
It fits any situation where a thing is plainly wrong yet nobody else reacts: a remake that's a shot-for-shot copy, a meeting that could have been an email, a price rise sold as a deal, or a ref missing a blatant foul. The angrier and more obvious the contradiction, the better.
