Crab Rave Meme Generator

What is the Crab Rave meme?

Crab Rave is a GIF from the music video for Noisestorm's house track of the same name: a beach covered in red crabs rhythmically raising and lowering their claws, letterboxed with black bars top and bottom, with a single crab dancing in the foreground. The crabs are pure, unbothered celebration, so the meme pairs them with news that something is finally gone, or with captions about something that very much should not be celebrated.

Origin: Irish producer Noisestorm released "Crab Rave" through Monstercat on April 1st, 2018, with a music video of dancing CGI crabs as part of an April Fools' campaign. Captions of the form "X IS GONE" over the crabs soon followed.

Also known as: Crab Rave Meme, Is Gone Crab Rave, Dancing Crabs.

How to use the Crab Rave meme

Top box: the classic "X IS GONE" line, or whatever the crabs are celebrating. Bottom box: an optional twist, often a small reminder that the celebration is premature.

It works for anything finally ending: a bug, an exam, a toxic group chat, a hated update. Writing in capitals and keeping the top line to three or four words matches the original rave captions.
