What is the Inside You There Are Two Wolves meme?
Inside You There Are Two Wolves shows a black wolf and a white wolf nose to nose in front of a huge full moon, with "Inside you there are two wolves" printed above them. The parody takes the solemn setup of the fable about a good wolf and an evil wolf fighting inside every person and swaps the moral struggle for something petty or absurd. The format usually ends with a flat summary line such as "you are both" or "both are you", which deflates the dramatic artwork completely.
Origin: The image parodies the "Two Wolves" fable, often credited to Cherokee tradition though its real origin is uncertain, in which a grandfather tells a child that the wolf who wins is the one you feed. Parodies spread in late 2018 and early 2019.
Also known as: Two Wolves, Two Wolves Meme, Wolves Inside You.
How to use the Inside You There Are Two Wolves meme
The template already has "Inside you there are two wolves" printed at the top, so the single text box under the picture holds the rest: describe what each wolf wants, then close with a short verdict.
The classic structure is "one wants X, the other wants Y. you are both" or a twist where the two wolves agree on something terrible. Contradictory cravings, split personalities in gaming, procrastination versus panic and anxiety versus caffeine all land well. Keep it to two or three short sentences so it fits the caption area.
