What is the Overwatch Mercy Meme meme?
Overwatch Mercy Meme is a two-panel image from Blizzard's Overwatch animated short: a frightened girl trapped in rubble looks up in the top panel, and the healer Mercy descends in a burst of golden light in the bottom one. The top panel is labeled with someone in trouble and the bottom with whoever, or whatever, swoops in to save them.
Origin: Both frames come from Blizzard's animated Overwatch material showing Mercy arriving to rescue a trapped child. Fans paired the two shots and uploaded them to imgflip as "Overwatch Mercy Meme", where the rescue format spread well beyond Overwatch players.
Also known as: Mercy Rescue, Heroes Never Die.
