What is the Spider-Man Triple Pointing meme?
Spider-Man Triple Pointing redraws the classic two-Spider-Man pointing gag with three heroes, each wearing a suit that recalls a different live-action Spider-Man era. Two face each other on the left and middle while the third, seen from behind on the right, points back at them, so everyone is accusing everyone else of being the copy. The flat colors and loading-dock background imitate the 1960s cartoon look. As a meme it labels three things that are basically the same thing pretending to be different: three job titles doing one job, three apps with identical features, three friends who all ordered the same meal.
Origin: It builds on a frame from the 1967 Spider-Man cartoon episode "Double Identity", where two Spider-Men point at each other. The three-suit version spread around Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021), which brought the three film Spider-Men together.
Also known as: Spider-Man Pointing at Spider-Man, Three Spider-Men Pointing, Triple Spider-Man Meme.
How to use the Spider-Man Triple Pointing meme
There are three boxes along the bottom: one under the left Spider-Man, one under the middle one, one under the right. Put a label on each figure. The labels should be things that claim to be distinct but are effectively identical, so the mutual pointing reads as "you're me".
It is strongest when the three are near-synonyms people argue about: job titles, product names, rival franchises, versions of the same remake. You can also tag the same person in three contexts (me at work, me online, me at family dinner) for a self-aware twist.
