What is the Jarvis meme?
Jarvis shows Robert Downey Jr.'s Tony Stark inside the Iron Man helmet, his face lit by glowing blue heads-up display graphics, looking straight at the camera with a sly half-smile. A strip of white space sits above him. In the films he gives voice commands to his AI assistant J.A.R.V.I.S., so the meme writes him calmly asking for something absurd, petty or catastrophic as if it were a routine task. The humor is the contrast between the high-tech genius setup and a request that is either very stupid or very dark, delivered with full confidence.
Origin: J.A.R.V.I.S. is Tony Stark's AI butler in the Marvel films, starting with Iron Man (2008). The "Jarvis, do X" format grew popular around 2020 and got a second wave alongside AI chatbots, since asking an assistant to do anything suddenly felt real.
Also known as: Jarvis Commands, Jarvis Do X, Jarvis Meme, Tony Stark Jarvis.
How to use the Jarvis meme
The top box is almost always just "jarvis" or "jarvis,". The bottom box is the command, written as an order to the AI. Short imperative sentences work best.
The funniest commands are tiny problems solved with huge power or huge problems solved too casually: deleting the production database, rerolling a bad grade, muting a group chat forever, lowering a ping. It also works as commentary on AI tools, where Tony asks for something the chatbot keeps refusing.
