What is the Knee Surgery Is Tomorrow meme?
Knee Surgery Is Tomorrow pairs a smug, blue-tinted Grinch with a caption that starts "that feeling when". The Grinch has a sly half-smile and narrowed eyes, as though he is secretly thrilled. The original caption, "tfw knee surgery is tomorrow" spelled out in full, made no sense on purpose: nobody is that excited about knee surgery, and the oddly specific line paired with an unrelated cartoon became an ironic in-joke. Now people swap in other oddly specific events, real or absurd, and the blue Grinch delivers them with the same unexplained satisfaction.
Origin: The caption was first attached to other excited-looking images, and the blue-tinted Grinch became its best-known pairing in 2021, when ironic "knee surgery" posts spread across social media.
Also known as: Blue Grinch, Blue Grinch Knee Surgery, That Feeling When Knee Surgery Is Tomorrow, Knee Surgery Meme.
How to use the Knee Surgery Is Tomorrow meme
This template has one box across the top. Start with "that feeling when" (or "tfw") and finish with something weirdly specific that happens tomorrow. The humor comes from a mismatch between the smug expression and the event, so either pick something boring and treat it like a celebration or keep the original knee surgery line for pure irony.
It suits release days, deadlines, dentist appointments, game patches or anything a niche group anticipates. Specific details (exact times, version numbers, "tomorrow") make it funnier than a general statement.
