What is the Pink Guy vs. Bane meme?
Pink Guy vs. Bane is an edit of a dramatic scene from The Dark Knight Rises. Bane, masked and enormous, stands in a dark underground lair with his arms spread wide as water crashes down behind him. Pasted in across from him is Pink Guy, the lanky figure in a full pink bodysuit, mirroring Bane's pose with a goofy face. The joke is a showdown between total menace and total silliness, and captions usually borrow Bane's lines, most famously "for you" from his line about a big guy. It labels mismatched rivals and petty confrontations.
Origin: Bane, played by Tom Hardy, comes from Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Rises (2012). Pink Guy is a character from the Filthy Frank YouTube channel. The mashup grew out of the wider "Baneposting" craze of quoting Bane's lines.
Also known as: Bane vs. Pink Guy, Bane vs Filthy Frank, For You Meme, Pink Guy Bane.
How to use the Pink Guy vs. Bane meme
The top box sets up the confrontation, usually a challenge or question from one side. The bottom box is the reply, often "for you" or "you're a big guy" in Bane's style. Both characters striking the same pose makes any rivalry look like a ridiculous duel.
It suits sibling fights, team rivalries, petty online beef and dev jokes about merge conflicts. The silly edge comes from Pink Guy's presence, so keep the text tough-sounding to play against him.
