What is the Three Kittens Dancing meme?
Three Kittens Dancing is a frame from an AI-generated video of three tiny, fluffy kittens standing upright on a roadside at night, city lights glowing behind them, arms raised mid-move in a perfectly synchronized routine. The kittens have stoic, slightly serious faces, as if they are performing something deeply important. That straight-faced choreography is the joke: it fits any trio of friends, siblings or problems that show up together and commit to the bit. Fans also label it "the dark triad" and assign each kitten a role.
Origin: The clip was posted on TikTok by @meowtakeover on June 28, 2026, set to "Spencer Hill Cool" by GFY1994. Within weeks it had tens of millions of views and spawned green-screen templates and dance remakes.
Also known as: The Dark Triad, AI Kittens Dancing, Three Cats Dancing, Dancing Kittens.
How to use the Three Kittens Dancing meme
The top box names the trio, such as "me and the boys" or three things that always appear together. The bottom box gives the moment they start dancing: the event, deadline or excuse that brings them out.
Groups of three are the natural fit: three friends in a group chat, three symptoms that hit at once, three tabs you never close. Calm, oddly specific triggers make the serious dancing faces funnier.
